How we climbed Mount Elbrus
August 2019

It's safe to say we had a very good time this time!

A great team, proper acclimatisation, stable weather and good organisation should have paid off - we still have 100% successful climbs. And here's why:

Firstly
The team is a family, where the children decided to make such an awesome gift for their Father - trekking in Elbrus and climbing Elbrus all in one. Everything was done in advance, decided a year in advance and the result was not long in coming. When the clients are a family (and this is only the second time in 11 years) everything becomes a little more interesting and good experience to the guides.
Secondly
Acclimatisation. Our programme involves an extended number of days and a special scheme of human acclimatisation to altitude, based on our own experience and the research of Soviet scientists.
Thirdly
The weather. It's no coincidence that this is our favourite time. This time the weather gave us a real present - it was fine all the time, 10 cm of snow sprinkled at night at the altitude and it was great for decorating the glacier the next day. But the most impressive thing about the weather was cloudless night and huge tropical cyclone in the region of Batumi - Kobuleti, which every 30 seconds burst into red thunderstorms. And the whole icy mass of Mount Elbrus gave a glare to these huge mountains!
Fourthly
Organisation. Always at the right level, that's our credo. All our guests need to do is arrive at the airport and we will provide full escort.

Join us next summer 2020 :

22-30 August - hiking climbing.

5-13 September - ascent with downhill skiing and snowboarding.
